Lake Bonny

We are on our third straight week of working on the house and while we are pushing to get everything done, we are taking some moments to rest, get some fresh air and to get out of the house. Today I thought I would share with you some pictures from one of my favorite places to walk the dogs. Less than a half a mile from our house is Lake Bonny. Next to it is a large public space that includes a playground, playing fields and a nice walking path.

For a good chunk of the walk the dogs can be off leash which they love. You do have to watch out for alligators when you get close to the lake so they are on leash fo that part but they get all they're running in before that.

There are a lot of great places to walk in Lakeland but this area is so quiet and serene it really is a relaxing walk.

My other favorite part of this walk is that there is a little pier. It is so pretty and you can see some really cool wildlife if you hang around for awhile (fyi I don't consider alligators to be in that category. I haven't seen one yet and would prefer not to).

The walk is just under a mile and a half which is perfect for my short legged friends. We're working on their endurance, but currently this walk is at their max and requires a hefty nap after (Zoe sometimes tries to take mini naps in the grass near the end of the walk).

As we continue to live in Lakeland we keep finding really cool places to explore! Our New Year's resolution is to take more walks with the dogs so hopefully I can share with you our other favorite places and maybe some new ones too.
