Cream Cheese and Curry Turkey Burger with Peaches and Onions

Writing this title made me think that some people might think that is an overwhelming amount of stuff in a dish but I have to tell you it is awesome. You can, if you feel the need, simplify it by just doing the turkey burgers on there own, but the peaches and onions really give it a great flavor. I first made the turkey burgers kind of by mistake. I had made curry burgers before, but this one time I accidentally dumped too much curry in, and to cut the strongness of it, I decided to add some cream cheese. They came out with a great flavor and were really moist and so I've made them a few other times. You don't need a lot of cream cheese to make it a lot more moist and flavorful than a typical turkey burger.

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 lb ground turkey
  • 1 tablespoon low fat cream cheese
  • 1/2 tablespoon curry powder
  • salt and pepper
  • olive oil
  • 1 medium onion sliced into rings
  • 2 peaches cut into eighths
Heat your grill to a high heat. In a medium bowl, mix the turkey, cream cheese and curry powder until it is thoroughly combined (I smush it with my hands) and make 4 patties out of the mixture. Cook the patties on the grill for about 5 min per side. While those are cooking, in a saucepan, heat up a little oil and cook the onions for about 2 minutes. Add the peaches and cook with the onions until the mixture begins to develop a thick sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Once the burgers are done, place them on a plate and spoon the onion and peach mixture on top. Enjoy!

Note: The burgers don't pack together as well as a normal burger so when you put them on the grill you want to place them gently or else the burgers get stuck.
