Backyard Haircut

Even though I've given Nate quite a few backyard haircuts, this is not what this post is about. This post is about this:

These two palm trees sit in a little peninsula into the pool. This allows them to provide much needed shade in the pool during the summer. The only problem is that they, and the bushes around them, had become so over grown that it was blocking our view to a good chunk of the backyard. This is especially annoying with our little dog Zoe. She likes to "explore" and so it's pretty easy to lose her in the backyard in its current state. (She's a little crazy)

Here is what the majority of the backyard (missing the right side) looked like before the "haircut".

And then this is what the palm trees look like after their haircut (bushes aren't cut)

And finally this is with everything cut and everything raked out (we discovered all this stone under all that foliage). You can also see in the back near the jetted tub that we also trimmed that palm tree.

Now we are going to lay weed free fabric, clean off the old stones and put them back and then top them off with some fresh stone. Then we need to tackle the rest of the yard!
