Lakeland had its big 4th of July festival, Red White and Kaboom, today. This has been an exceptionally rainy week this week and the HUGE thunderstorm that came through at 5 p.m. made it seem like the fireworks may be cancelled. Now in Maine we were always told that if you didn't like the weather, wait a minute. I have always thought that this was a great saying, but nowhere have I seen it more true then in Lakeland. It was 85 degrees and sunny until about 5 p.m. at which time it poured and stormed and by 8 p.m. it was gorgeous again and significantly cooler; just in time for the fireworks.
There was a great band, food vendors and so many people! The storm didn't scare away too many people and the fireworks display did not disappoint! It was really impressive. I hope everyone has a great
4th of July!
