30 Weeks

Things are starting to change faster in the baby department so I'm going to start posting these every two weeks to keep track of everything. I had fun with my new camera taking some pics outside this week. It's really crazy all the pretty flowers that come out in January around Lakeland.

This week, Baby is the size of a: Large Regular Cabbage (almost 3 lbs!)
How far along? 30 weeks
Due date: March 25, 2013
Total weight gain/loss: 8 lbs
Maternity clothes? Pants yes all the time and a combo of maternity tops and regular tops still.
Sleep: I feel like I'm seeing more and more of the early morning hours recently. I'm usually not up for long but I definitely feel like I'm getting prepped for the coming months.
Best moment: The baby is kicking hard enough to move my computer if it is lying on my belly and so it's really cool to just watch my belly jump around.
Movement: Around this stage the baby is supposed to start cycles of being awake and asleep and I'm definitely noticing them. The most active time continues to be between 5 pm and 8 pm but recently very early morning has also been a pretty active time (as in 4 and 5 in the morning). The baby also doesn't seem to like it when I sit at my desk for too long. If I do, I get these hard kicks right under my right rib that make me sit up straight really fast.
Food cravings: I've been having a distinct lack of cravings these past couple of weeks. I'll be hungry but can't think of anything I want to eat. Usually I'll go with something easy like soup or an apple since I also have had a lack of motivation to cook.
Symptoms: Baby is taking my breath away... literally. My lung capacity sucks right now...as in I constantly feel like I'm sucking air. With the start of the semester parking is slim so I sometimes have to park 1/4 mile away from my office and it takes me 20 minutes to walk it if I don't want to stop and catch my breath. This drives me nuts since normally I can walk an entire mile in under 15 min! I've also started to get what feel like side stiches (like you get when you work out). According to my doctor, the same hormones that cause these during workouts is produced during pregnancy and so it's normal to get them even if you aren't working out. It's nice to know it's nothing to worry about but it's also slowing me down since they can get pretty bad (it reminds me so much of my XC days) so I can't stand up straight and I don't want to to walk around half bent over.
Gender: Boy!
Feeling toward Pregnancy: I'm feeling slow and my motivation level to do really anything has dropped to just above zero. As a result, I've had a couple of Law and Order: SVU marathon days in bed over the last couple of weeks and the projects I want to do are getting done at an uber slow pace. Other than that, I really love feeling the baby move around and despite still having issues with my hips, I still have really good use of my abs which is awesome. I'm going to enjoy every day that I can still do sit-ups.
What I miss: Running is still the #1 thing I miss. I am having running dreams at least once a week.
What I am looking forward to: Starting the baby's room and having our next ultrasound in a couple of weeks.
Milestones: Passing my glucose test! Our hospital also requires an epidural class if you are even considering one and so we got that checked off our to-do list. I also think I finally got our registry put together which I found completely overwhelming
