Whirlwind Weekend

I started a very busy weekend last Friday at 4 am. Nate drove me to Tampa and dropped me off at the airport so that I could take a 6 am flight up to Maine (with a quick stop in Baltimore). The reason for this trip? It was three fold so lets go through each one.

First up Friday night was my little sister's Bachelorette party in Portland ME.

We went out to dinner and went dancing for a bit with the obligatory bride to be bling which was a lot of fun, but it wasn't too late of a night (which was good for me since I was running on 3 hrs of sleep) since the next day was a big day.

Saturday was the NESCAC (New England Small Conference Athletic Conference) Track and Field meet at our college (my sis and I and our significant others all went to the same school). This is one of the championship meets for the season and my sister was competing in the hammer and discus. It happend to also be the alumni meet so I got to watch my sister compete and catch up with all my old teammates.

It's was pretty chilly and windy but everyone competed really well. My sister got sixth in the hammer and the men's team won the whole meet. We also had an alumni dinner which was really fun and yummy. It was so great to catch up with everyone I hadn't seen in awhile.

Sunday the festivities continued with my sister's bridal shower. We did a brunch with friends and family. We made a bunch of fun breakfast foods like egg cupcakes, french toast skewers and mini yogurt parfaits. We also had an assortment of pastries and staples like bacon and pancakes.

The flower girls were super cute and tried on their flower girl dresses for us.

And of course there were presents!

After the shower I had a couple of hours to hang out with my family and then it was off to the airport again to fly home. I got home around 12:30 in the morning and was at work and back to regular scheduled programming at 9 am. It was a quick but fun packed weekend and now I'm going to spend this week recouping some much needed sleep!
